dane alasdair ellerby comes from a long, illustrious line of pureblood wizards. though the ellerbys claim to have been neutral in the last war, they are very proud of their lineage and look down on muggles and muggleborns alike. dane and his twin sister, dinah, were born to barufio ellerby - a former hit wizard for the ministry of magic and current head of the department of magical law enforcement - and bellacor ellerby nee norvel - a world-renowned arithmancer and curse-breaker, formerly employeed by both hogwarts and gringotts. though barufio himself was a proud durmstrang alumni, bella had made it clear from the day their children were born that they would both be attending hogwarts. unfortunately, the summer before they were set to begin at the school she loved so much, bellacor was hit by a car in muggle london, killing her instantly. though barufio briefly considered sending dane and dinah to different schools, he eventually decided to honor his wife's last wish. though the twins had been inseperable since birth, once at hogwarts, they were sorted into different houses: dane went to slytherin and dinah to ravenclaw, their mother's former house. sarcastic and at times coldly manipulative, dane took to his house exceedingly well, finding a best friend in sebastian kaius. before long, he started a relationship with callidora adoline, slytherin's resident queen bee, which has lasted on and off for all of his years at hogwarts. though ruining the lives of people he doesn't like is his main hobby, dane is quite a skilled quidditch player and slytherin's seeker. he is already in talks with the falmouth falcons and plans to win the next quidditch world cup for england. though his best subject is undoubtedly transfiguration, he has shown quite an interest in the dark arts (which has been greatly encouraged by his father) but he claims it is purely academic.
storylines.
◦ the slytherin clique of doom: alex, bradford, calli, kaeya, lycoris, sebastian, surie.
◦ callidora adoline: dane's on/off girlfriend. though they're considered the slytherin sweethearts and have been dating for as long as anyone can remember, they break up as often as they make up. though he's often seen sneaking out of the room of requirement with other girls whenever they're off, he always ends up back with calli.
◦ sebastian kaius: the best friend. more details to come.
◦ kaeya valdecourt: though their parents had planned for them to marry, kaeya is like a little sister to dane. he would defend her to the grave - not that she needs it.
◦ surilaya pivesk: one of calli's best friends and the "love fairy" that holds their relationship together. if he was left to his own devices, calli probably would have been done with dane ages ago, but surie makes sure they always get back together.
◦ jack hollund: epic rivals! dane has never liked jack, due to the fact that he's a gryffindor and tends to flirt with calli, but now he is facing the prospect of being related to the stupid lion. dane's father and jack's mother are engaged to be married, whether their children like it or not.
◦ jazmyn lancing: despite the tension between jaz and calli, these two are still friends. they occasionally flirt/hook up when he's single, if only to make calli jealous.
◦ bina lightborn: study buddies.
